Folacoat Ultra T is a strippable and compressible coating plate which consists of multiple layers.
Surface: Pink polymer, recommended for transfer of aqueous varnish and UV- varnish. Carrier: Folacoat Ultra T consists of a PET intermediate layer which ensures high dimensional stability. On top: Slipping- / Protection film (ensures the cutting head travels smoothly over the surface). The backside of Folacoat Ultra T is a foam/fabric lamination.
The coating plate for the transfer of water-based and UV coatings received a tear-resistant, double-layer polyester film laminate. This laminate reduces the risk of the carrier break for largest production runs, and ensures a long service life.
The pink-coloured, coating-carrying top polymer coating has received a protective / sliding film, to protect the coating plates against mechanical damage. This film allows trouble-free sliding of the cutting head by a CAD cutting systems and visualizes the applied cuts.
The Folacoat Plus is now also available in roll-lengths of 30m and 40m.
Folacoat Extreme is the logical advanced development of the globally accepted Folacoat Plus.
Our Folacoat Extreme is particularly capable of meeting today's higher demands on print run stability when using UV coatings. In addition, it is the perfect transfer medium for H-UV or LED-UV applications.
The two-layer polyester carrier permits very long runs and reduces the risk of rupturing of the carrier, particularly in the event of manual cutting. The slipping film additionally applied enables coating plates to be produced on a cutting plotter without difficulty, providing cut visualisation at the same time. As a result, all zones to be stripped are easily identifiable.
The Folacoat Extreme is now also available in roll-lengths of 30m and 40m.
The translucent Folacoat Basic was developed for the use with water-based and UV coatings. The uniform thickness profile of coating plate achieves a good coating transfer even at highest printing speeds. A single-layer polyester film is used as carrier material, which provides the necessary dimensional stability.
The red-translucent polymer layer can be cut easily by hand or with a CAD-cutting system. The applied cuts are clearly visible and the unwanted polymer areas can be lifted easily. The Folacoat Basic is currently used for medium to large production runs. Additionally it will be even used in H-UV applications.
The Folacoat Basic coating plate is now also available in roll-lengths of 30m and 40m.
Folacoat Easyspot is an economical alternative for the production of coating plates for the offset printing market. The self adhesive polymer film can be applied to the dry surface of an offset printing plate. Also a polyester film can be used. The exposed and grease free surface provides an excellent base to enhance the adhesion properties. Surface coatings from gum arabic should be washed away with water.
The transparent polymer film can be simply cut out, manually or with a CAD-cutting system to create the coating relief image. The areas which should not transfer varnish can be stripped away with ease.
Folacoat Easyspot are recommended for aqueous coatings. We got reports from our customers which used the products successfully in several short-run jobs with UV-varnish. Due to the different kinds of UV-varnish and UV-cleaner available we can not give precise information yet about the life span of Easyspot in UV-applications.
To obtain the best results we recommend the coating plate should have a min. 10 mm (.394") wide polymer strip that remains near the edge of the printing format / printing sheet size. This will provide equal support across the plate through out the rotation of the cylinder, to protect the relief areas.
Care must be taken when applying the polymer to the printing plate to avoid air bubbles.
The Folacoat Flex is a compressible coating plate in the 1.15 and 1.35 mm thickness and can ensure best coating coverage of the sheet, even on critical substrates (recycled cardboard). The compound of the pink polymer and the compressible layer transfer the water-based coating in an optimal manner. The compressible layer improves the runnability of coating plate in the printing process and improves the coating transfer.
The single-layer polyester carrier provides the necessary dimension stability and allows the multiple use. This plate can be cut manually by hand or with a CAD cutting system.

UV-High Gloss or Matt coatings comply with the requirements of modern Printing Companies in the Commercial as well as Packaging sector and require specialized coating plates.
The Folacoat Diamond has a soft top polymer with excellent surface characteristics for excellent UV-coating transfer. The coating plate can be quickly and easily stripped and ensures a long service life. Additionally excellent coating results with water-based coatings can be achieved.
This coating plate is protected by a protective film as well, which still provides a good visualization of the cut.
Folabase U offers reliable support for adaptation to cylinder circumferences and print lengths in offset printing presses and ensures optimum dot transfer.
Folabase U can be applied very easy beneath printing formes and rubber blankets. Furthermore the material can be used in coating units in combination with our compressible Folacomp underpacking to achieve ideal rolling conditions.
Folabase U consists of a biaxial stretched polyester layer which offers high dimension stability. The thickness tolerance is low. The material composition has an extremely high swell resistance to dampening solutions and cleaning agents and shows fewer tendencies to breaks.
Folabase Soft U offers reliable support for adaptation to cylinder circumferences and print lengths in offset printing presses and ensures optimum dot transfer.
The two-layer compound made of dimensionally stable polyester and extremely ductile polyurethane ensures an extremely high dimensional stability and consistent thickness. Unlike paper-based underpacking sheets the Folabase Soft U has a certain smash resistance and can be used again. Additionally it is highly swell resistant to dampening solutions and cleaning agents.
The Folabase Soft A is the self-adhesive modulation of our modern and flexible Folabase Soft u. The two-layer compound made of dimensionally stable polyester and extremly ductile polyurethane ensures an extremely high dimensional stability and thus, stable thickness. The soft polyrethane layer absorbs mechanical forces and ensures a good resistance against paper jam.
The Folabase H 48-RB is a specific development of the world-wide accepted Folabase H 48 and consider the special requirements of underpacking materials on rubber- blanket cylinders. A surface-active anti-slip coating supports the special requirements of underlay foils on blanket cylinders.
Folabase H48 is a new Folex product in the segment of self-adhesive underpacking foils. Corrosion-inhibiting additives in our Folabase H48 underpacking foil protect the cylinder surface. The foil can be easily applied to almost all cylinders and can be removed quickly and cleanly with very little cleaning effort. The foil's release film consists of siliconised propylene, this prevents wrinkling and avoids dust inclusion. Given its high resistance to chemical cleaners and solvents, Folabase H48 is characterised by a long service life. The foil demonstrates very good thermal stability on the press.
The Folacomp range was specifically developed for use underneath Folacoat coating plates and offers a wide range of thicknesses of underpacking containing a high percentage of compressible components. The content of smash-sensitive fabrics is considerably reduced in comparison with conventional compressible rubber underpacking blankets. The large number of thicknesses available makes it possible to use just one layer of underpacking in combination with the respective Folacoat coating plate. Packings made up of several sheets of paper belong to the past. The Folacomp PA is a self-adhesive version of the standard compressible underpacking. To improve its dimensional stability and increase the service life, the compressible underpacking material is reinforced with a dimensionally stable polyester foil.
